Asthma
Clinics are available to offer advice and support from nurses who specialise in asthma care. Details of clinic appointment times are available from reception.
Cervical Cytology
Smears are usually taken by nurses in the Treatment Room. Details of appointment times are available from reception. These appointments are also available on Saturdays through the Enhanced Access Hub.
Child Health and Immunisation
All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from six weeks old. Appointments for baby and pre-school immunisations are usually given for a Thursday morning. These appointments are arranged through Child Health however are booked to attend at our surgery.
Dermatology
In these clinics our Nurses undertake wound dressings and assessments. By GP referral only they can also advise and treat long term chronic skin conditions (e.g. eczema, psoriasis).
Diabetes
Clinics are available to offer advice and general health check-ups from specialised nurses to patients diagnosed with diabetes. Details of clinic appointment times are available from reception.
Minor Surgery
Our GP’s can undertake minor operations in our Minor Ops Room. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment. The NHS has strict guidelines regarding clinical necessity; and cosmetic surgery is not generally available.
Family Planning
Dr Pawlik and Dr Singh run family planning clinics for the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants and intrauterine contraceptive devices (coils). For more information, please make an appointment with a GP or nurse practioner to discuss your options.
NHS Health Checks
You'll be invited for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years if you're between 40 and 74 years of age unless you have been diagnosed with the following:
Heart disease
- Stroke
- Diabetes
- Kidney Diease
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholestrol resulting in you taking Statin Medication
Learning Disability Health Checks
Annual reviews are completed to ensure each patient is well and getting the support they require alongside reviewing any medication and completing a general health check.
Phlebotomy Service
Phlebotomy involves collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing. It’s a crucial procedure that helps doctors diagnose conditions, monitor health, and manage treatments by analysing blood.
PCN Pharmacy Team
The pharmacy team in the surgery consist of a Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians. They help patients manage their medications by providing services such as Structured medication reviews. These are 30 minute appointments to review medicines, diet and lifestyle and social issues. The team also conduct blood pressure clinics and have dedicated time to answer patient queries. In addition, they review patients who have been discharged from hospitals and make changes to medications recommended by the hospital. They monitor, order blood tests and prescribe medications by working with you to get the best out of your medicines.
Menopause Clinic
The menopause clinic provides a holistic approach to the management of menopause, with a focus on the benefits and risks associated with using Hormonal replacement therapy along with alternatives to HRT along with lifestyle modifications that may be of help.
